Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot ‘Begs The Feds’ For Help After Lying About Rising Crime – “Embarrassing”
To quote Robert Kennedy, “Every society gets the criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on.”
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has placed herself and her city perilous for every Chicago resident and anyone visiting the city. The police force is tired of Lightfoot’s constant police bashing, and now she needs help to enforce crime in her town.
Lightfoot is requesting more federal resources from U.S. Attorney Merrick Garland, not school boards. Lightfoot wants the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and more federal prosecutors to come to the city for six months to seize more firearms and bring more cases to the federal level.
It wouldn’t be as necessary if Lightfoot would protect the officers protecting the city instead of treating them like garbage. Lightfoot said, “They’re going to follow a legal instruction from the city and a police department order. Anything less would be considered insubordination. I hope that no one who informs personnel of the department that they can defy proper legal direction leads them off the cliff without a parachute.”
Funny enough, Lightfoot is begging for federal assistance now.
To quote Robert Kennedy, “Every society gets the criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on.”
So, tell us, Mayor, which are you insisting on?
In addition to the additional Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and federal prosecutors, Lightfoot is requesting more federal marshals to work with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and Chicago Police Department to hunt for thousands of individuals with warrants.
Oh, how the tides turn.
It’s amusing how the city will turn around when the citizens are unhappy about doing so. It’s one thing to do what your constituents want, but it’s another to place people in harm’s way just for a social justice stance that elected leaders decide to take. Lightfoot’s actions put the police officers in harm’s way with retaliation against them from citizens. Still, when the police refuse to do their job because the city mistreats them, the city is putting the citizens in harm’s way.
There’s a result that happened from Lightfoot’s policies and leadership. More homicides and more shootings. Lightfoot tried to say that “all of our major indices show a decline in our crime, and our homicides and shootings year over year are down.”
That’s not even close to accurate.
In 2020, the number of shooting victims was sitting at 3,930, and in 2021, that number jumped to 4,270. That’s an enormous difference. The difference in those two numbers, 340, would almost equal one more shooting every single day in 2021 versus 2020.
On top of that, homicides jumped from 749 in 2020 to 783 in 2021.
Whatever Lightfoot is smoking, maybe she should share because she has an optimistic outlook on people losing their lives.
That’s what tells you that Lightfoot’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate isn’t about saving lives. She doesn’t care about saving anyone if she’s willing to place the citizens of her city in a position to see more homicide and shootings while she pretends like it’s not an issue.
Ineptocracy
A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
