INEPTOCRACY CHRONICLES – Texas Bans China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea from Buying State Property
This should be a national law of the land. Where is congress?
Ever wonder who owns the land next door? It might not be who you think. Foreign countries have been gobbling up American soil for years. They buy farmland, homes, and even property near our military bases.
This isn’t just about foreign investment. It’s about national security. When countries that hate America own land in our backyard, they can spy, steal secrets, and set up shop right under our noses. Many states have noticed this problem but haven’t done much about it.

Texas just showed the rest of America how to fight back. Governor Greg Abbott signed a powerful new law banning China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea from buying land or property in the state.
From ‘The Post Millennial’:
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed into law a bill that will block individuals or entities from adversarial nations from purchasing land or property in the state…
“I signed SB 17 which is the toughest ban in America on preventing the sale of our land and other property to individuals and companies from China, Iran, North Korea & Russia,” Abbott announced.
The new law, which takes effect September 1, covers everything from farms and water rights to homes and businesses. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton can now investigate violations as felonies, putting real teeth behind the ban.
“Chinese companies purchasing American land, particularly near sensitive strategic and military sites, is not a coincidence,” said Michael Lucci, CEO of State Armor Action. “The CCP is blatantly attempting to base espionage efforts, and potentially worse, right in our backyard.”
A Growing National Problem
Texas isn’t alone in this fight. So far, 25 states have passed laws to restrict foreign property ownership. But not everyone is on board.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs recently vetoed a similar bill, claiming it lacked “clear implementation criteria” and opened the door for “arbitrary enforcement.” What would stop a foreign spy from setting up shop near a critical military base in Arizona?
The Texas law makes certain exceptions. U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents can still buy property. People legally in the United States who want to buy a primary home are also exempt, as are short-term leases under one year.
This new ban comes after alarming reports about China’s growing footprint in America. Chinese companies have secured positions in U.S. drone markets, built solar converters that could be used for spying, and increased their presence at maritime ports.
Protecting America’s Future
Texas lawmakers designed the bill to target countries identified as security threats in the U.S. intelligence community’s 2025 Annual Threat Assessment. These aren’t random choices – they’re America’s most dangerous adversaries.
“Governor Abbott and the Texas legislature are right to ban foreign adversaries from purchasing land in their state,” Lucci added. “More and more states should follow their lead.”
The legislation comes at a critical time. Earlier this month, two Chinese nationals were arrested for attempting to smuggle dangerous biological pathogens into the United States, highlighting the very real threats these countries pose.
Texas has drawn a line in the sand – or rather, on its land. By blocking hostile foreign powers from gaining a foothold on Texas soil, Governor Abbott has shown that protecting American land isn’t just about property rights – it’s about protecting our country.
Other states should take note. When foreign enemies can buy up the land beneath our feet, no American is truly secure. Texas is leading the way in making sure America stays in American hands.
