INEPTOCRACY CHRONICLES – Texas Republicans Just Changed The Game – GOP Gets To Redraws The Map, Makes It Easier To Hold Their Seats
Keeping Texas Red . . .
By Adam Casalino| October 18, 2021
Elections have consequences. We’ve certainly seen that in D.C. But big wins for Republicans in 2020 are also being felt across the country. Many state legislatures were won by Republican candidates, giving them the ability to shape the future of their state—and Congress—for the next decade.
Despite Democrats’ best efforts, Texas is far from becoming “purple.” The state’s legislature has a strong Republican majority—which grew in recent years. And, it seems like the GOP advantage will only grow more in the coming years. Because Texas Republicans are redrawing the map.
From Washington Examiner:
The Texas GOP voted on a redrawn map for the state’s U.S. House districts on Saturday. The redrawn congressional districts would make it easier for many current Republicans to hold their seats and would also open a new path for Texas Republicans along the Mexican border…
The new lines create two new districts in the state and make many less competitive for Republicans. Texas Rep. Todd Hunter presided over the redrawn maps in the House.
Thanks to the U.S. Census, state lawmakers get to redraw congressional districts this year. That will have a tremendous impact on how Congress will look in 2022 and beyond. Major changes were coming this year, because of the shift in populations.
Many blue states lost so many residents that they actually lost a seat or two in the House, for the first time ever. That shift has benefited conservative states like Texas, who actually gained seats in Congress. And, because of Texas’s Republican majority, they get to decide district maps that favor conservative candidates.
The biggest changes to Texas’s map appear to be along the border, where they broke up older districts into smaller ones. Democrats cried racist, as usual, but they shouldn’t be quick to complain. All along the border, major changes have been taking place.
Thanks to Biden’s border crisis, Hispanic voters along the Texas-Mexico border are actually breaking up with the Democratic Party. In recent elections, they’ve actually voted for Republican candidates, upsetting norms that have stood for years.
Regardless of how the GOP broke up the congressional map, Democrats had to be aware of this fact. Hispanic Americans are not on their side, anymore. Biden has seen to that. We shouldn’t be shocked to see formerly “liberal” Hispanic districts breaking for the GOP in future elections.
The left might rage all day long. But they only have themselves to blame.
Key Takeaways:
Texas GOP redrew the state’s congressional map to favor conservatives.
The state’s Republican majority had the power to decide districts, after the Census.
Democrats are raging, claiming this move is racist, despite Hispanics ditching the party.

Ineptocracy
A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
