Russian State TV Discusses Unleashing Nuclear Torpedo
Of course, if Russia used such a weapon creating a 500-meter tsunami, soon it would not exist as a nation and be completely destroyed. by combined world forces.
Retired Russian Gen. Yevgeny Buzhinsky suggested the Poseidon nuclear-capable super torpedoes ought to be used against Western forces.
Buzkhinsky’s remarks were made on Russian state television “Russia 1,” and were covered by Newsweek.
“However, Poseidon has already been tested,” he stated, prompting anchor Vladimir Solovyov to express that he hopes to see it developed. “We would like to of course,” answered Buzhinsky.
Russian state-run media outlet TASS reported that Russia finished producing its first batch of Poseidon nuclear-capable super torpedoes in January.
The torpedoes, also referred to by the outlet as drones, reportedly have unlimited range due to their nuclear capabilities. The missiles are also apparently able to reach 80mph, making them far faster than a typical torpedo. Some of them feature a 2-megaton nuclear-tipped warhead.
“The first batch of Poseidon ammunition has been manufactured and will be soon delivered to special-purpose, nuclear-powered submarine Belgorod,” reported TASS, using an anonymous source affiliated with the Russian military and defense industry.
Buzhinsky warned that further meddling of Western nations in the Ukraine conflict may lead to it “all end[ing] with Poseidon and a tsunami, a 300 or 500-meter wave.”
Solovyov added, “and then Great Britain will be no more.”
“Yes, Great Britain will definitely be no more, I’m talking about the United States,” said Buzhinsky.
Solovyov then joked, “And if [UK Prime Minister] Sunak is washed away, who will Macron have left to kiss?”
A lady present on the same panel quipped, “Trudeau again,” prompting laughter and agreement.
Newsweek reported that her saying, “Opyat s Trudeau” is a play on the Russian phrase “Opyat s trudom,” meaning “with difficulty again.”
This exchange comes as a Russian fighter jet crashed into a U.S. Air Force drone, leading to it plummeting into the Black Sea. American forces reportedly condemned Russia for the incident, saying it amounted to an “unsafe and unprofessional” interception.
U.S. and Russian officials alike have described Poseidon as being so powerful it can form radioactive ocean swells that lead to coastal cities being uninhabitable, according to Newsweek.
